Busana Toraja Juara Manhunt International 2011

Metrotvnews.com, Jakarta: Busana ala Toraja, Sulawesi Selatan, yang dikenakan duta Indonesia, Johanica Yanuar, dalam kontes pria berbakat sejagat, Manhunt Internasional 2011 di Korea Selatan sukses menyabet predikat The Best National Costume.
"Ini prestasi yang membanggakan karena penghargaan national costume termasuk yang paling bergengsi dalam ajang tingkat dunia ini," kata Ketua Tim Indonesia (National Director) yang juga Brand Manager L-Men, Christian Widi Nugraha, di Seoul, Korsel, Senin (10/10).
Wakil Indonesia, Johanica Yanuar (26), yang berpostur tinggi 182 cm itu mengenakan busana rancangan Dynan Fariz-Jember Fashion Carnaval yang bertemakan Mystical Toraja dalam sesi Traditional Costume Parade dalam ajang Manhunt International 2011 yang malam puncak finalnya digelar di Millenium Hotel, Gangnam, Seoul, pada Senin (10/10) malam.
Busana tersebut merupakan modifikasi pakaian adat Toraja, Seppa Tallung Buku yang dilengkapi dengan sayap dan tanduk, mengesankan kebesaran dan keagungan salah satu kebudayaan Indonesia.
Christian Widi Nugraha menambahkan, pengerjaan kostum tersebut memakan waktu berminggu-minggu. "Sampai acara akan dimulai, kostum itu belum juga selesai akhirnya dikerjakan marathon selama sepekan, dan siap digunakan pada sore hari sebelum tim diberangkatkan ke Korsel," katanya.
Bahkan, Widi menambahkan, fitting pakaian dan pemotretan baru dilakukan pukul 11.00 malam sesaat sebelum tim berangkat ke Korsel. "Perjuangan belum berhenti karena di bandara sempat dipersoalkan lantaran kelebihan muatan sehingga dikenai biaya 'overweight' hingga 700 dolar AS," katanya.
Salah satu juri Manhunt Internasional 2011 yang juga perancang mode ternama, Ricky Abad, mengatakan, national costume asal Indonesia layak menjadi juara karena detail, unik, dan megah. "Desain kostum Indonesia sangat unik, detail, dan membuat pemakainya terlihat gagah. Inspirasi itu diperkaya dengan tanduk dan ekor seperti binatang," katanya.
Pada kesempatan itu, duta China Chen JianFeng, sukses menjadi juara pertama Manhunt International 2011. First runner up diraih Dominican Republic, 2nd runner up ditempati oleh Belgia, 3th runner up Vietnam, 4th runner up dari Slovak Republic. Duta Indonesia sendiri juga sukses menyabet Top 15 alias 15 besar dalam ajang internasional itu.(Ant/BEY)
